Cupfull started with something my therapist told me: try to keep your cup at 80%.
At the time, I was preparing to balance an accelerated one-year graduate program, an internship, and work as a crisis counselor. I spend a lot of my time showing up for other people—in school, at work, at home, and in the helping profession. My therapist reminded me that I also have to intentionally pour some of that energy back into myself.
The funny thing is, as a social worker, I already knew this.
I've talked with clients about self-care, boundaries, burnout, and the importance of taking care of themselves. But knowing something and actually seeing it happening in your own life are two very different things.
I realized I needed something visual.
I wanted to be able to look at my cup and ask: How full am I right now? What has drained me lately? What actually fills me back up?
That's where Cupfull came from.
This isn't about keeping your cup at 100% all the time. That's probably not realistic, and it isn't the point.
It's about becoming more aware of what takes from you, what gives back to you, and making space to pour into yourself before you're running on empty.
So check in with yourself. Add the things that fill your cup. Notice the things that drain it.
And maybe, little by little, we can get better at giving ourselves some of the care we're so willing to give everyone else. 💛
